ARMS OF STEEL

    LEVEL 2/45 minutes

If you’re looking to get those arms pumped, then join us! We’ll be working everything from shoulders to biceps and triceps all the way down to forearms and fingers. This class will be using moderate to higher rep ranges (10-30) with small amounts of rest time.

AQUA ZUMBA®

    LEVEL 1/45 minutes

Perfect for those looking to make a splash by adding a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine. Aqua Zumba® brings new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. It combines the South American Zumba rhythm and dance steps with a pool party. This class takes place in our heated indoor teaching pool. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting, and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba® shallow water class.

AQUACISE

    LEVEL 1/60 minutes

A chest-level, light-to-medium intensity water workout using equipment and the water’s resistance to tone muscles and increase endurance and flexibility. Avoid joint pain and strain and come join us for a lively time in the pool.

BASIC STEP

    LEVEL 1 /45 minutes

Step aerobics not only help tone your glutes and legs but will help you build your stamina and increase endurance. In this Basic Step class, participants using an elevated platform, learn the key moves used in a typically choreographed routine and will then step to the rhythm of the music and complete upper body strength exercises. This session also focuses on abdominal work in order to complete your full-body workout.

BIO-ENERGY/STRETCH & BALANCE

    LEVEL 1/45 minutes

This class is perfect for people who are looking to open themselves up and learn to be better grounded. Bio-energy exercises are fun and great for releasing unwanted tension and anxiety in the body. We will then continue with basic stretch and balance exercises for optimal flexibility, balance, and coordination.

BODY BLAST

    LEVEL 3 /45 minutes

Body Blast is a cardio-charged workout that is high energy and motivating! This is a high-intensity interval training class that incorporates challenging cardio segments, resistance training, and intense core work using diverse fitness equipment to blast your body into shape fast.

BOOT CAMP

    LEVEL 3/45 minutes

This interval training class alternates between bursts of intense activity and periods of lighter activity. Class includes a challenging mix of intense, dynamic core-stabilizing exercises moves, and drills to take you to your limit.

CARDIO BLAST

    LEVEL 3/45 minutes

Cardio Blast is all about getting the body moving and the heart pumping. Each class offers a different, but always a fun, challenge, combining a range of high-intensity aerobic and body-weight exercises. You will probably be doing lunges and squats, a bit of boxing, not against each other, and running on the spot. We’ll leave the finer details until you come to the class. What we can say, though, is that you’ll increase your cardiovascular fitness, burn calories and improve your general well-being. And you’ll have blast, doing so!

CARDIO KICKBOXING

    LEVEL 3/60 minutes

No bags. No gloves. Just a killer workout. This dynamic and explosive class incorporates kickboxing techniques with an intense cardio workout. Improve your endurance and cardiovascular fitness while toning your arms, legs, and core muscles. This class will leave you sweating and pumped.

CHAIR YOGA

    LEVEL 1/60 minutes

This class is taught mostly while you sit on a chair but can incorporate standing moves that use the chair for support. Chair yoga is great for people recovering from injury or who have limited mobility or balance.

CIRCUIT

    LEVEL 3/45 minutes

Periods of high-intensity cardio interspersed with strengthening exercises and short rest periods give you maximum effect. Learn the proper techniques and form from the class coach. Bring your big water bottles and a big towel. You will sweat.

CORE CONQUER

    LEVEL 3/30 minutes

This is going to blow your core out! This class is for those who are already strong, good with form, and are used to doing multiple variations of plank-like movements (holding positions) and abdominal exercises.

CORE N’ MORE

    Level 2 /30 minutes

The Core N’ More class includes Pilates-based mat exercises to work on core strength and stability. We use bands and body weight as tools to enhance range of motion, flexibility, balance, and muscular strength. Our goal is for you to have fun and increase your ability to perform daily activities.

DEEPWATER WORKOUT

    LEVEL 2/45 minutes

This water fitness program is held in the competition pool and provides a no-impact yet challenging cardiovascular workout. Participants may use flotation belts and foam barbells to perform a variety of motions including water walking, running, abdominal work, and toning exercises. Burn fat and increase cardiovascular fitness, range of motion, and muscle tone.

FLEX N’ STRETCH

    LEVEL 2/60 minutes

This class is based on the 30/30 format: 30 minutes of full-body lightweight, high repetition training followed by 30 minutes of stretching to ease those burning muscles.

HIP HOP STEP

    LEVEL 3/45 minutes

Not to be confused with the step class from the 80s, this class, set to catchy hip hop music, incorporates simple basic step aerobics with some resistance moves targeting the glutes, thighs, and abs. Strengthen your heart muscles, improve lung function, and boost your energy level. Come get your step on!

H2O FIT

    LEVEL 2/60 minutes

A medium-high intensity workout that focuses on toning muscles and increasing endurance and flexibility. This full-body workout combines cardiorespiratory, muscle conditioning, and interval training. Water equipment will be used. The class takes place in the teaching pool or in the deep water.

RISE N’ SHINE CARDIO

    LEVEL 2/45 minutes

An early morning, full-body cardio workout that gets your heart pumping and metabolism going by igniting all of your muscles. Wake up with the Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center team!

SENIOR FIT (Balance)

    LEVEL 1/45 minutes

This balance class is designed for active older adults and those recovering from injury or with limited mobility. Learn functional moves that help improve balance and stability. Chairs will be available for assisted balance.

SENIOR FIT (Strength)

    LEVEL 1/45 minutes

This strength class is designed for active older adults and those recovering from injury or with limited mobility. Help gain strength, ward off muscle deterioration, and reduce instances of inactivity-related disease and cognitive decline. Plus, this class gives an opportunity to make friends. Chairs will be available for seated exercises. Light hand weights, balls, and bands will be used.

STRETCH & TONE

    LEVEL 1/ 30 minutes

This is perfect for anyone who wants to stretch out and get a mix of core exercises and light weightlifting. Perfect for any younger or older person who is a beginner or wants to learn proper form.

STRICTLY STRENGTH

    LEVEL 2/45 minutes

This class is built to strengthen your whole body. We will use weights, plates, bars, bands, and dumbbells in conjunction with bodyweight exercises. Expect each class to be different.

TAI CHI

    Level 1/60 minutes

Tai chi is a series of gentle physical exercises and stretches. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Tai chi is sometimes described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements — connecting the mind and body.

TREAD N’ SHRED

    LEVEL 3/45 minutes

Comprised of interval training doing cardio rounds utilizing the treadmill which may include sprints and hill climbs with intervals of sport-specific strength and agility training off the treadmill. This workout offers seasoned exercisers a new challenge and new exercisers a quicker way to see results. If you think the treadmill is boring, then try this class. You’ll certainly have a different outlook afterward and will look forward to the next session.

WATER TAI CHI

    Level 1/60 minutes

Water Tai Chi is a graceful exercise and relaxation program using a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements of the arms, legs, and torso that will promote flexibility and strength, improve range of motion, balance, and circulation while calming the mind and decreasing stress.

WATER WALKING

    LEVEL 1/60 minutes

This self-lead activity is great for anyone looking for fitness, therapy, and stress relief while doing various exercises that have you moving forward, backward, and sideways to increase muscles in your abdomen, back, and legs. It is recommended that participants wear water shoes. Meet some new friends while you walk the stress away! Non-Swimmers welcome.

YOGA

    LEVEL 1/60 minutes

Roll out your mat and discover the physical and mental benefits of yoga. No matter your age or fitness level, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. This class is suitable for beginner to intermediate participants. Bring your own mat.

ZUMBA

    LEVEL 2/45 minutes

Come join the party! Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin/international and popular music with booty-shakin’ dance moves. It is the best form of exercise in disguise.

ZUMBA GOLD®

    LEVEL 1/45 minutes

Zumba Gold® is a lower-intensity version of the typical Zumba class and was designed to meet the anatomical, physiological and psychological needs of our older active adults and seniors. Perhaps Zumba Gold® will provide a suitable option for older adults seeking alternative means of reaching their exercise goals.
